IT'S A SOUTH TEXAS FIESTA
The Challenge! Mark your calendars for Sunday December 7, 2008 and get set for 5 categories of competition and enjoy South Texas tropi cal weather, landscape and wildlife. Featuring Parks, the Rio Grande River and nature Trails.

Experience fitness and culture all in one place with the Fiesta Marathon & Relay Marathon. Participants from the Rio Grande Valley, Mexico, Texas and surrounding states will all participate. Plus, with 5 challenging races to choose from, you have plenty of time to take in all the beauty and culture that South Texas has to offer while helping to support Rio Grande Valley non-profit organizations.

26.2 MILE MARATHON Start Time 6:30 a.m.
Let the South Texas tropical weather, landscape and wildlife surround you as you cruise through the historic cities of McAllen and Mission in this 26.2 mile Boston Marathon qualifier. Cash prizes will be given for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd overall finishers. Marathon finishers will also receivea festiva sombero, medal and commerative microfiber shirt. The marathon will open for a 7 hour period. NO EXCEPTIONS!

RELAY MARATHON Start Time 6:30 a.m.
Five person teams can run or walk in this festive relay marathon. Teams will run the distance and compete in 12 categories for unique awards in each division and every participant receive a free race t-shirt and finishers coaster. Form your team today!

HALF MARATHON Start Time 6:30 a.m.
On December 7, participants will finish the half marathon distance as they run 13.2 miles and cross the official Fiesta Marathon finish line. Awards will be given to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners in each race category. All finishers will receive a free race t-shirt and microfiber finishers running cap.

5K FITNESS FIESTA RUN/WALK Start Time 7:30 a.m.
All fitness levels have a chance to participate with this 5K run or walk course. Everyone will receive a free race t-shirt and awards will be given to the overall male and female finishers in the run division .

1-MILE KIDS' RACE Start Time 9:00 a.m.
A fun-filled race from start to finish for young runners and walkers in grades K thru 6th. Awards will be given to top 3 boys and girls in each age group (ages 5-6, 7-8, 9-10 and 11-12). All participants will receive a free race t-shirt, goody bag, and a finishers ribbon.

Schools Can Compete!
Help your school compete for the "Most Active School" Award.The school with the largest number of students that sign-up for 1-mile kids' race will be eligible to win a 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place trophy to be given away the day of the race. Entries must be turned in to your school representatives by November 7, 2008.
Cash prizes will be given away to benefit school athletic program. .

FREE HEALTH & FITNESS EXPO Dec. 6, 2008, 12 - 6pm. Open to the public! At The New McAllen Convention Center
Featuring the latest in running shoes, sports apparel, health and nutrition products. Whether someone is a fitness fanatic, casual runner, or anything in between, this expo offers a chance for everyone to be part of the event. Participants must pick up their packets at the expo. NO EXCEPTIONS!

THE FINISHERS FIESTA! - Start Time 10:00 am
The Fiesta Marathon will finish with a bang outside at the McAllen Convention Center. A party featuring a FREE Live Concert, food for race participants, fun and the awards ceremony. Family and friends are also welcomed to join the finishers for this grand celebration.

RACE INCENTIVES The Fiesta Marathon is a Boston Marathon qualifier.
